Who We Help›Plumbers›Leads for Plumbers
Leads for plumbers
Lead sites rent you enquiries. We build the ones you own.
Checkatrade, Bark and MyBuilder sell you an enquiry that other plumbers may see too. Your own Google profile, reviews and website bring calls that come to you, and they keep working when a membership ends.
We build and run those for you, with LeadFlow™, which texts back the calls you miss and follows up your quotes, set up and run by us.

Leads for plumbers, in short
- The question
- Should a plumber pay Checkatrade, Bark, MyBuilder or Rated People for leads, or put the effort into being found directly? Many do both for a while. This page sets out what each route asks of you.
- Lead sites
- You pay a membership or buy credits, and the site decides how many plumbers see each enquiry. Bark's customer terms say "a maximum of five Professionals will contact you directly" (Bark.com, clause 2.5(a), checked September 2026). Checkatrade doesn't publish how many members an enquiry is shared with. The Checkatrade sums are on our page on whether it's worth it for plumbers.
- Your own leads
- Your Google Business Profile, reviews that name the job, a page for each job and each town, and a way to catch the enquiry when it lands. You own all of it, and it keeps working when a membership ends.
- Who does the work
- We do. Dan Jaques founded ContentWorks and owns every client relationship, Frankie and her team run your day-to-day, and a crew of AI Employees does the heavy lifting. AI-powered, human-led.
- What you do
- Answer the phone when you can, do the job and send us a photo.
- What it costs
- Bronze is £500/month, Silver £950/month, Gold £1,500/month, and Platinum is from £2,000/month (three-month minimum). Every plan starts with a one-off Foundation Build, £1,500 with any plan or £1,750 on its own. Bronze, Silver and Gold roll monthly with 30 days' notice. See pricing.
- Our promise
- Our 90-Day Confidence Guarantee means that if we haven't delivered what your plan sets out in your first 90 days, we keep working at no extra cost until we have. We don't promise rankings or a number of calls.
- How to start
- The free Visibility Scorecard: 18 quick questions on Google, reviews, enquiries and social. At the end you see your score, your weakest area, and what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity already say about your business.
Rented leads and owned leads: what each asks of a plumber
Some plumbers get good work from lead sites, and this page doesn't say otherwise. These are the parts that differ.
Lead sites
- Who sees the enquiry
- It depends on the site. On Bark, when a customer sends a request before picking anyone, "a maximum of five Professionals will contact you directly". Checkatrade doesn't publish a figure.
- What you pay
- A membership fee or prepaid credits, paid whether or not an enquiry turns into work.
- What you keep if you stop
- Your page sits on their address, in their layout, under their rules.
- What you can measure
- What the site tells you. Which enquiries became paid jobs is only visible if you track it yourself.
Your own visibility
- Who sees the enquiry
- A customer who finds you still sees other plumbers in the map results. The difference is that nobody sells your enquiry on to them.
- What you pay
- A monthly plan for the work, rather than a fee per enquiry. Prices are on our pricing page.
- What you keep if you stop
- Your Google profile, pages and reviews stay yours. Bronze, Silver and Gold roll monthly, and you own everything we build.
- What you can measure
- Tracked numbers show which calls came from the map, the website or a post. They land on your WorksBoard™, one page with your calls, enquiries, reviews, Google Maps positions and the work we've done for you.
Some plumbers use both for a while. The aim is for a lead site to become one option, not the only one. If you want paid enquiries while your own channels build, Google Local Services Ads are an optional extra, outside every plan.
A lead is only worth something if somebody follows it up
In a 2022 ElectricalDirect survey reported by Installer Online, 79% of UK plumbers said they don't know how to market their business effectively. Whichever source your leads come from, these are the four places they go cold.
It rings while you're under a floor
Your arm's behind a bath panel and the phone goes. Some callers won't leave a voicemail, and the next plumber on the list picks up.
Quote sent, then silence
You priced the bathroom refit on Monday. By Friday you've lost track of who was waiting, and so have they.
The customer is ringing round
If the same enquiry reaches other plumbers, you're one quote among several before you've said hello.
Job done, and that's the last you hear
A customer you won through a lead site can be worth more on the second job, when nobody takes a fee for the introduction.
A lead you rent stops when you stop paying. A customer you keep rings you again.
What the lead sites publish, and what they leave out
We read Checkatrade's pricing page on 9 October 2026, and its definitions page and Bark's terms on 30 September 2026. Prices move, so check the site before you sign anything.
| Site | What it publishes | What we couldn't find |
|---|---|---|
| Checkatrade | Three plans on its pricing page for trades: Free at £0 a month, Approved at £30 a month and Growth at "Prices from £59/mo". Its definitions page names an Application Fee, "currently £50", that it "may charge". | VAT and contract length aren't shown on the plan cards. How many members see the same enquiry isn't published. |
| Bark | Credits are paid for in advance (clause 8.1 of its terms). When a customer sends a request before picking anyone, its customer terms (clause 2.5(a)) say "a maximum of five Professionals will contact you directly". | What a credit costs. We haven't priced it. |
| MyBuilder and Rated People | Each runs its own model and publishes its own terms. | We haven't priced either, so we won't guess. Read the terms before you pay. |

How a plumber's leads become leads they own
We run the lot for you … your Google profile, your reviews, your website, your socials, and a backup for the calls you can't get to, so nothing gets missed. Here is the part of it that produces and protects leads.

- Part one · Get found
Be the plumber they find when they search
Customers look for a plumber on Google Maps, in a local Facebook group, on Nextdoor, in a directory and now by asking ChatGPT. We work on those places (Facebook groups and Nextdoor on Silver and above) and keep your details the same in all of them, so the enquiry comes to you.
See the 11 things behind it
- Your Google Business Profile built, tuned and checked every month, with every job and every area you cover
- Google profile posts: offers, job highlights, seasonal tips and service reminders
- The same name, address and phone number on every listing, including Apple Maps, Bing and Facebook
- Your Checkatrade or other lead-site profile brought into line with those details, if you keep one
- Up to 100 hand-finished directory listings, plus the links that support them
- A page on your website for each job you want more of, and a page for each town in your patch
- Your reviews, Gas Safe details and contact details where people can see them on your site
- Local blog posts answering what customers search for, like "why is my boiler losing pressure?"
- Your business in local Facebook groups and on Nextdoor Silver+
- What ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say about you, checked when we start and every quarter Silver+
- Pages written to fix what AI tools get wrong about you Gold+

- Part two · Missed calls
Missed a call? LeadFlow™ is your backup, so nothing gets missed
LeadFlow™ texts back the calls you miss and follows up your quotes, set up and run by us. It sends the texts, not us. Each week we tell you which quotes are still waiting, so you know who to ring.
See the 5 things behind it
- LeadFlow™ set up for you, with a simple list of who's waiting on a quote, and training so you know how to use it
- Call tracking, missed-call text-back, your own voicemail greeting, a 12-second ring time and one inbox for WhatsApp, texts, web chat and forms
- A new-lead alert to your phone, and follow-up texts for quotes that go quiet
- A weekly check that it all works: we ring your number as a test, let it ring out, and check the missed-call text went back and your alert came through
- A weekly note on which quotes are still waiting
- Part three · Past customers
Keep your past customers, and they keep sending you work
Whether a customer came from Checkatrade, Bark, a paid lead or the marketing you pay for, you spent money to win that first job. Keep them and they ring you again when the boiler needs a service, and they tell their neighbours "I know a good plumber".
See the 5 things behind it
- Review requests after each job, with QR codes and a first-week push Silver+
- Replies to your reviews on your Google profile, and a heads-up when a review raises something to put right Silver+
- Check-in texts to past customers, sent by LeadFlow™ Silver+
- Seasonal and win-back emails and texts Silver+
- A seasonal plan through the year: boiler services before winter, frozen pipes in a cold snap, bathroom refits in spring Silver+

- Every week · We run it
See which leads came from where
Tracked numbers and a monthly report show which calls came from the map, the website or a post, so you can set that against what a lead site costs you. On Silver and above, we ask you each week for job photos, and you do the jobs.
See the 6 things behind it
- Tracked phone numbers and campaign links, so you can compare each source with what a lead site costs you
- A monthly report of your calls, enquiries and reviews (calls once your call tracking is set up)
- "Did these book?" on the enquiries that come in, so you can see which turned into jobs
- Google Maps positions tracked against the plumbers near you
- A weekly request for your job photos, and we file the photos you send Silver+
- A monthly pack with a copy of what we published

Straight terms, from people who publish the price
We've shown you what lead sites leave out. Here's what we put on the table.
Prices on the page
Bronze £500, Silver £950, Gold £1,500 a month, Platinum from £2,000, on one Foundation Build. They are on our pricing page for anyone to read.
30 days' notice, and it's yours
Bronze, Silver and Gold roll monthly with no exit penalty. You give 30 days' notice and you own everything we build.
Pointed at the work you want
Tell us you'd rather fit boilers than clear drains and the pages follow. We build for the jobs you want more of.
A promise on delivery, not on calls
Our 90-Day Confidence Guarantee is on delivery. We report the calls and enquiries the work brings in and the reviews it earns, and we don't promise a ranking or a number of calls.
What plumbers say about lead sites
Four fair doubts, and where we stand.
Then keep it while it pays for itself. Tracked numbers show which calls came from where, so you decide with your own figures when to scale it back.
The Google profile moves first. Pages, reviews and the wider work build over the months after. We can't give you a date, which is why a lead site can stay in the meantime.
Hold us to something specific. We report calls, enquiries and reviews every month, and every plan carries our 90-Day Confidence Guarantee on delivery.
Bronze, Silver and Gold roll monthly. Leave on 30 days' notice and keep every page, post and review we built.
What plumbers ask about leads and lead sites
Last reviewed October 2026.
What is the best way for a plumber to get leads?
Be easy to find where customers already look, and catch the call when it comes. That means a finished Google Business Profile, reviews that name the job, a page for each job and town you cover, and a way to text back the calls you miss. Lead sites can sit alongside that while it builds. We run all of it for you.
Are lead sites worth it for plumbers?
Sometimes. A lead site can fill a diary quickly, and it stops when you stop paying. Whether it pays depends on what it brings you against what it costs, and only your own numbers can answer that. Our page on whether Checkatrade is worth it for plumbers shows how to count them.
How much does a plumbing lead cost?
There isn't one price. Checkatrade shows plan prices but not what an enquiry costs you. Bark charges per credit, and publishes no fixed price per lead. MyBuilder and Rated People run their own models, and we haven't priced them. Work it out for yourself: a month's fees divided by the paid jobs the site brought you.
How do I get plumbing leads without paying per lead?
Finish your Google Business Profile, ask every customer for a review that names the job, and build a page for each job you want more of. Make sure the calls you miss get a text back. It takes time every week, so be honest about whether you'll keep it up. That weekly work is the part we do for you.
How do I stop losing leads when I'm on a job?
Set your phone up so a missed call gets a text back, and follow up quotes that go quiet. We set up LeadFlow™ to do both, and to send you an alert when a new enquiry lands. It's a backup for the calls you can't get to, not a replacement for picking up when you can.
Do I have to stop using Checkatrade to work with you?
No. Many plumbers keep a lead site running while their own profile and pages build. We set up tracked numbers so you can see which source brings the calls, and you decide when to scale anything back.
How do I get more repeat customers as a plumber?
Keep in touch after the job. On Silver and above, LeadFlow™ sends a review request when a job is done, then check-in texts and a seasonal reminder, like booking the boiler service before winter, to the past customers you give us. We set them up and write them in your voice.
What does it cost to get found without a lead site?
Bronze is £500/month, Silver £950/month, Gold £1,500/month, and Platinum is from £2,000/month (three-month minimum). Every plan starts with a one-off Foundation Build, £1,500 with any plan or £1,750 on its own. Bronze, Silver and Gold roll monthly with 30 days' notice and you own everything we build.
